Agglomeration consists of a series of photographs from laboratory objects and that were obtained at two different times: one in 2003 and another one in 2009. The images show flasks, test tubes and boxes that are stored in closed compartments (fridges, cupboards or sterilizers). The order or disorder of the objects (arranged in particular ways or distributed randomly) are a testimony to the social interactions that underlie the laboratory as a social space. In those shelves a number of different projects, methods and personalities coexist, combine and are in confrontation. In 2009 Herwig Turk, came back to those very same fridges, cupboards and sterilizers and photographed their shelves as a means to register putative modifications and cultural transformations that may have occurred in the laboratory over the last six years. These may include the use of new methods and techniques, new products in the market as well as new members in the research teams.
